Best Beauty Spa Resorts in the World

By: Heather Jabusch
The International Spa Association defines spas as “places devoted to enhancing overall well-being through a variety of professional services that encourage the renewal of mind, body and spirit.”  Some strive on the importance of the use of mineral spring water, since it is known to cure iron deficiency diseases such as anemia, or kidney disease. Others boast their excellence based on nature/location, a variety of cultured relaxation techniques, and aromatherapy products.  From the 2012 world luxury spa global winners, I chose these five unique spas to introduce to you.

The Spa at The Address Dubai Marina, United Arab Emirates

The Spa at The Address Dubai Marina

Distinctive among spas, this resort offers a variety of native treatments and balneotherapy experiences utilizing the waters and energies from the volcano as well as a three-unit Temazcal.  Tabacon’s sweat lodge is led by a Mexican Shaman-trained expert, and encourages the use of their yoga studio and meditation trails set within the gardens, an outdoor thermal Watsu pool fed by volcano-heated waters, private soaking streams and a cold river pool.

  1. Heather – thanks for sharing these wonderful spas! Ah, how I’d like to at one right now! Hopefully in the not-to-distant future, – Nadine

    • Heather Jabusch says:

Thank you Nadine! I agree! Ever since I did the research, I have been dreaming of these and testing my husband with questions like….”would you go to South Africa?” LMBO!!

  2. Evian spa services are very good. At least here in Buenos Aires – Argentina. I’ve been several times and it is wonderful. I would be very happy to try the French.

    • Heather Jabusch says:

I am so glad to hear that Barbara! I was wondering how it made the top 5 because it seemed a bit boring. But then again, I have been to local massage places without a forest or volcano and the services were fabulous! I have to ask….you would stick with the same brand in another country versus trying one of these others?
