Online Alter Egos Gone Wild: How Mom Became A MILF

Online Alter Egos Gone Wild: How Mom Became A MILF

By Tracy Madlener

Wanna know a secret?  I have an online alter ego that says and does things that would embarrass the heck out of me!  Isn’t that just the craziest?  I mean, it’s me for Pete’s sake and yet my extreme character that I have taken on has somehow morphed into a sexy, lipstick loving fiend and an all out witty party MILF that I never knew lived in my head.  I’ve written about butt crack, hot sex, Moms’ Night Out (House TPing anyone?), oral contraceptives and the ultimate taboo… Mommy Lessons for baaaaad Mommys.  No really, bad parenting annoys me!

What makes someone like me write topics like that?  A pen name.

Sometimes it’s better to be a mystery MILF

To be able to express myself on any given topic… ANY… and not have a care in the world about what someone else thinks can be quite exhilarating.  Exhilarating to the point of saying things I would never say if I were face to face with an actual real person!  In fact, I was so comfortable with this blog character that I took her (See?  I talk about “her” as if “she” were another person!) into the world of social networking, Facebook page and all.  And then it happened… people wanted to know who this confident, flirty and smart person was that called herself a ‘MILF’ and everybody else ‘Darling.’

I tried to avoid the personal questions, staying in character was a must as I didn’t want anyone to know who I was.  The problem with staying in character was that I actually liked the people I was meeting and didn’t want my persona to be a fake, but yet it was, but then it wasn’t because it was me, or was it?  I didn’t want my online persona to link with my real life as I’m actually someone that advises parents on their kids’ education and linking my name with floozy and monkey repellant didn’t seem like such a good idea at the time.

Writing in character has enabled me to be as bold as my persona’s brightest lipstick and as witty as a modern day Lucille Ball, except that no one knew I was wearing lip balm and my wit could be edited.  Haters?  Yup, they would stop by and deliver their venom in the form of a comment, which I got my share of as I ruffled many feathers with my superior truths!  Having a pen name made me fearless of comment come backs and I would stick it to them if they dared crossed swords with the almighty alter ego!  The best part of playing this character was when my readers gave me or, “her”, a nickname.  I knew then and there that I had achieved the part perfectly.

Everyone plays a role – sometimes

Most now know that it was role playing at its finest and I still get playfully called a MILF by those who first met me as “her.”  Thank goodness for “her” as I would not have met the many wonderful people that I have.  She (there I go again) has given me opportunities that I never knew existed… so I would like to thank “her” and give myself a new lipstick and a pat on the back.

You could collect all your wild and funny stories from your alter ego and publish them in a book called, “Secrets from a MILF.” I bet it would sell!
