Female Celebs You’d Never Guess Were Geniuses

Women, and specifically women who are celebrities, are usually objectified for their beauty, not their brains. For centuries a woman’s only real power was thought to lie in her sexuality, presented with disingenuous charm and batting lashes. Today women still struggle against stereotyping – she’s blonde, she’s a bombshell, she’s hasn’t a brain in her pretty little head.

Some women have taken advantage of the expectations placed on them, but with a serious twist and on their own terms. You’ve probably seen these women on the television or the movie screen, in the pages of the tabloids or walking down the red carpet. What you probably don’t know is that their IQ is genius level!

A little perspective, first. An average IQ is between 90 and 110. Superior intelligence clocks in between 110 and 120, and very superior intelligence between 120 and 130. An IQ of 140 or above indicates genius. Hillary Clinton has a 140 IQ.

The Singers

Madonna made her living off of her sex appeal, but is recognized as one of the savviest music marketing managers of her generation. Her IQ? 140, same as the Secretary of State.

Ke$ha 2011

Ke$ha

Ke$ha plays the dumb drunk party girl on stage, but her smarts tell the real story – she’s also a 140! She told Seventeen “I would drive to the local college and take classes on Cold War history, just for fun.” Ke$ha made it clear in her Billboard cover story, “I’m not just a little pop moron.”

Shakira makes the trifecta of single name singing starlets – another performer with blond locks and a stage presence that thrills millions. Guess what – also a 140 IQ!

The Actresses

You’d never guess that Phoebe Buffay from the long running sitcom Friends was a genius – but Lisa Kudrow has a reputed IQ of 154. She plays part of silly sidekick with glee, however, starring in more than one role as the ditzy blonde.

Geena Davis was the geeky girl who almost made the Olympic archery team – and went on to stardom as a Victoria Secret girl and award winning actress. Her IQ? Again, 140.

Ellen Muth

Ellen Muth, who starred in the celebrated cable series “Dead Like Me”, portrayed 13 year old “George” with an utterly flat affect. The English teen was smarter than her character by miles, however, with a staggering 156 IQ.

Bond girl Jill St. John played opposite Sean Connery in the 1971 film Diamonds are Forever. Her IQ will blow you completely away – it’s 162.

More Gorgeous Geniuses

Asia Carrera had a free ride to Rutgers – but stripped for extra cash and ended up becoming one of the world’s top pornographic actresses. She codes her own websites and boasts an IQ of 156.

English model Laura Shields was Miss UK International, but is the recipient of an honors masters degree in chemical engineering from Leeds university and has a 158 IQ

Girls are among some of the world’s smartest people! The current record holder for highest IQ is a woman – Marilyn Vos Savant, with an IQ of 228. A four year old child, Heidi Hankins, was recently admitted to Mensa with an IQ of 159 – just one point shy of Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein.
